I hope you are all doing well.Remember this is not easy for any of us.Everyone is missing everyone.Make sure you take lots of photos ,yours may the winner.!!!(see yesterdays post)

Now a bit of work…..The Food Pyramid is our guide to a healthy balanced diet.Click here to look at it. Here is a poster if you have a printer I want you to make your own over the next few days using old magazines .Ask the person who is shopping to pick up some food promotion leaflets over the next few days (Aldi, Lidl, Supervalue, Dunns,etc) Draw a triangle as large as you can.Using what you have is fine.I have been told that Mr Price is still open but not sure.Follow the example of the link above,when you have it finished, you could put it on your fridge.(photo opportunity!!) I also have a food groups game for you to play.You will also enjoy watching this video.The Eatwell plate is also a guide to healthy eating. You can have a look at it here. Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a nice weekend with your family.This week we will make some lovely pizzas.So I want you to check the cupboards for the following ingredients and if you dont have them ask the person doing the shopping to get them.All are cheap as chips and would make a nice treat for the family {much nicer than Dominos}!!! You need : plain flour/dried yeast/tomato passata/oregano/tomato paste/cheese(mozzarella)and what ever toppings everyone likes.

Dont forget to write all your tasks you have completed into your diary to show me when we see other again. Ok now some work for you…….

MAKE SURE YOU ARE CHOOSING 2/3 TASKS EACH DAY FROM THE ORIGINAL LIST

When you are checking for your ingredients I want you to check the use by dates on 5 different foods in the fridge and the best before date on 5 different foods in the cupboard .Write your findings into your diary.Click here to get some information on food stuff dates.

I hope everyone is well,washing those hands and keeping their distance.

Today I will add to the list of tasks you can do.

Change your bed covers put them in the wash and hang them out on the line.

Make lunch for someone in the house as well as yourself !

here is a very easy recipe for banana muffins

You dont need a weighing scales.

2/3 ripe bananas

1/2 cup melted margarine(approx 1/2 packet)

1/2 cup castor sugar

1 1/2 cups self raising flour

1 egg.

method:put all the dry ingredients in a large bowl,whisk up the egg in a cup with a fork,mash the bananas on a plate,add into the dry ingredients with the egg.Mix well ,line a muffin tin with papers (this mixture will make 12 muffins or 24 buns and freezes perfectly.spoon into the cases. You can sprinkle a few seeds on the tops if you have them

Bake in a pre heated oven 200* for 15/20 mins.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO WASH YOUR HANDS AND WEAR AN APRON LIKE WE DO IN HOME ECONOMICS …

Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone in your house is keeping well,you are washing those hands and keeping your distance.

Just an idea I had…..can you keep a little diary of the tasks you do for Home Economics and we can have a look at it when we all return to school.Today I would like you to pick two of these tasks to do.

Empty the dishwasher

Wash or dry the dishes after dinner today.

Sweep the kitchen floor.

Tidy your room

Hoover your room.

Get some fresh air

Check the kitchen for castor sugar,flour,margarine,eggs and bun cases we will do some baking tomorrow….banana if you have them or plain ones
